United Merchant Processing Association (UMPA) is committed to providing our merchants, our customers, and ours visitor with a website that respects their privacy. This page summarizes the privacy policy and practices for all of UMPA’s website divisions. Information Collected For UMPA Services
To open a UMPA merchant account, you will be asked provide us with specific information about yourself and your business. Some of this information may be shared with a third-party, such as a credit check bureau. For more information about how your information is used, please read the UMPA Merchant Agreement.
When purchasing goods from a UMPA merchant, buyers will be asked to enter billing and shipping information in order to complete their transaction. Some of this information, such as credit card number, is transmitted to third-parties such as the Visa, MasterCard and other card-brand acquiring networks. UMPA, as a Visa and MasterCard member service provider, meets and upholds all PCI security standards required to safely process your online information.
Disclosures Required by Law
We reserve the right to disclose your personal data as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us.
Security of Stored Information
UMPA is committed to handling your information with high standards of information security. We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and we authorize access to personal information only to employees who need to know that information in order to fulfill their job responsibilities.
The security of your UMPA account also relies on your protection of your password. You may not share your account password with anyone. If you believe someone else has obtained access to your password, please change it immediately by logging in to your account changing your Account settings, and also contact us right away to inform us of the breach. UMPA will never ask you to send your password or other sensitive information to us in an e-mail.
Any e-mail or other communication requesting your password, asking you to provide sensitive account information via email, or linking to a website with a URL that does not begin with https://umpa-us.com/ or https://www.umpa-us.com/ should be treated as unauthorized and suspicious and should be reported to UMPA immediately.
