"After years of developing hundreds of great relationships with merchants for various banks and processing companies, I found out that in a relatively short period of time, these relationships were destroyed by empty promises. The banks and processing companies I represented did not adequately hold up their end of the agreement to me or the merchants. NO MORE!" replies former representative Douglas Zarlenga, now founder and CEO of United Merchant Processing Association (UMPA), a national company since 1996. With a goal of being in this industry for the long haul, UMPA was designed this way:

1. Due to credit card fraud being at an all-time high, our Association Members must pass a credit review on both a personal and business level.

2. With the monies saved from elimination of fraud liability, our Association Members are rewarded with a complete no-nonsense fee processing program. This means no Monthly Minimums, Maximums, Annual Fees or Retrieval Fees.

3. To give our members what they want. We provide a clear explanation of all the industry changes up front allowing our members to make the best educated choice on how to take plastic today and down the road. We fully disclose all fees and costs - no fine print to study on our fee schedules. We believe in old fashioned customer service with live bodies trained and waiting to provide assistance in any way possible to our members.

In the spring of 2001, our corporate facility expanded to over 6,500 square feet. Unlilke most of our competitors, this allows UMPA to have all of our divisions under one roof. This ensures complete teamwork and a "one stop shop" for our members to utilize.
